IT Support Services Intern


We are seeking a IT Support Services Intern to work closely within IT to learn and contribute to department objectives. The IT Support Services Intern will perform project related tasks designed to meet business needs, learn about the functions and responsibilities IT with the objective of completing tasks and projects that serve the Department's needs.  


Under indirect supervision, the IT Support Services Specialist is responsible for providing support to end-users for applications, hardware and infrastructure. You will also simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.  This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal performance. This role will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. Candidates need to possess strong analytical, interpersonal, customer service and communication skills and have the ability to organize and manage several projects at once.

Core Functions

  • Diagnose user computing problems through troubleshooting skills, logic, research and isolation steps.
  • Record all call inquiries, from initial call to incident resolution.
  • Maintain current and orderly systems documentation and update as necessary.
  • Configure, support and perform routine maintenance of hardware and software for desktops (PC/Laptop).
  • Install and upgrade software.
  • Maintain records of hardware and software inventory.
  • Exudes enthusiasm for TVH mission, vision, and values.



  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 


Experience & Skills

  • 1+ year experience.
  • Solid foundation of Personal Computer experience.
  • Excellent troubleshooting capability.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Demonstrates proficient ability to diagnose technical problems/failures and determine a proper resolution, leveraging all available knowledge/support resources to expedite resolution.
  • Demonstrates a passion for new technologies and ability to effectively adapt to change.
  • Demonstrates effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record in effectively driving tasks and priorities for overlapping projects and meeting deadlines in a consistent, complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Proven ability to remain flexible in a changing environment.
  • Attendance and schedule adherence are requirements of this position.
  • This position includes continuous walking, bending and lifting equipment sometimes up to 50 pounds and engaging in labor related duties of connecting computer equipment.
  • May require additional project-specific training.

Special Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
