Human Resources Intern


TVH is seeking a Human Resources Intern to work closely with Human Resources team members to assist in the areas of talent acquisition, talent development, and talent management. Performs administrative tasks such as scheduling, emailing, and filing.  Learns about the functions and responsibilities of the Human Resources department.

Core Functions

  • Work with training team to learn navigation and documentation methods in the learning management system
  • Assist training team with organization, loading and set up of records and documents in the learning management system
  • Assist team with compiling new hire folders and boxes
  • Learn about, participate and assist with planning new employee orientation
  • Assist with planning and coordination for departmental and company training sessions
  • Contact candidates by phone to schedule interviews, gather information, and schedule post offer screening
  • Learn how to navigate the applicant tracking system and assist with posting job openings both internally and externally
  • Schedule and send calendar invitations to human resources and hiring managers for phone and onsite interviews
  • Assist with scheduling pre-employment drug screen and criminal background checks, notifying applicable team member of post offer testing completion by candidates
  • May assist with job fair and/or recruitment event planning and participation
  • May assist with preparing and distributing COBRA, FMLA, Leave, and/or workers compensation documentation
  • May assist with gathering and compiling documentation for unemployment claims
  • Learn about Human Resources and employment law
  • Participate in departmental activities
  • Perform filing of employee documentation in personnel files
  • Performs other duties as many be assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrates organizational, time management and follow up skills
  • Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude and demonstrate a desire to collaborate effectively with others
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
  • Demonstrates basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite  
  • Demonstrates understanding of Google Mail and Calendar
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply proficiency with web based software navigation
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills



  • High School Diploma or GED


Desirable Qualifications

  • Interest in the field of Human Resources
  • Prior experience working in an office environment
